Welcome to
St Stephen's Anglican Church, Bayswater
TOGETHER IN GOD, CHURCH AND COMMUNITY
St Stephen's Anglican Church of Bayswater is part of the Anglican
Diocese of Melbourne. Anglicans are Christians who belong to the
world-wide Anglican Communion, originating from the Church of England.
Mission Statement
The people of St Stephen's Bayswater commit
themselves to serving the people of God here and in the wider community,
seeking to meet the pastoral needs of all who seek God. We commit
ourselves to grow in faith, to invite and welcome others to share in
this journey.
Parish Profile
St Stephen's is an inclusive, welcoming, warm, diverse and family-friendly
church in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Our life
at St Stephen's is firmly based on the Eucharist which unites us
with Jesus Christ and empowers us to love God and our neighbour as
ourself.
With this as our foundation, we offer a range of spiritual, educational
and social activities, along with many opportunities to serve others.
Parishioners
come from near as Bayswater and as far as Richmond and Upwey. We
are a gathered congregation which is diverse with people from South Africa,
Mauritius and UK.
We form a vibrant, multicultural and loving community. There are
also some members of the congregation who have come from other Christian
and other traditions.
We love our music at St Stephen's. And our choir leads the congregation in the sung parts of the
Mass and hymns at our 9.30am service.
