Centennial Patronal Breakfast
- update
Our
Centennial Patronal Breakfast held on Sunday 3rd August, was a great
success.
We had the best turnout for a long time, some regular guests said it was the
best turnout ever. It was great to see a number of old familiar faces of people
who had moved out of the area or for one reason or another had not kept in
touch. Some of
the guests were lured to the breakfast by the fantastic press coverage that we
had in the local Knox Leader. We hope to catch up with a lot more familiar faces
at future Centennial Events.
Centennial International
Lunch - update
Our
International Lunch was well attended and catered for a wide range of
tastes from a variety of counties including Ireland, France, Italy, Croatia,
India, Malaysia, South Africa and many more. The deserts were also a special
treat.
Centennial
High Tea - update
The
High Tea was a "right royal affair" with tables set with the finest
silver and china, delicate sandwiches and a spread for the tastiest home
made cakes and pastries imaginable. Teas and coffees were served thorough out
the afternoon by friendly hostesses, while the guests were entertained by guitar
soloist Jonathan Coralie and vocals from the East City Sound Quartet. Live
background music was provided by Simon & friend. The highlight of the
afternoon was the presentation by Mrs Joy Freier on her experiences working with
indigenous peoples of far north Queensland, Northern Territory and some of the
nearby island, culminating in the production and distribution of the Kriol
Baibul. (see http://www.kriol.info)
We
look forward to your company in celebrating 100 years of service to the
local community. Let’s all get together and have
fun!
